Introduction about drying oven
An oven is one of several tools for removing moisture. A desiccator uses a chemical desiccant (like silica gel) in a sealed container to create a dry atmosphere for room-temperature storage or cooling of dried samples; it is not an active drying device. A lyophilizer (freeze dryer) is a far more complex and expensive instrument that freezes a sample and then uses a vacuum to sublime ice directly into vapor. It preserves structure and is for delicate biologicals.
The drying oven sits between them: more active and faster than a desiccator, simpler and less damaging than freeze-drying for many robust materials. The choice depends on the sample's sensitivity, the required final state, and available resources.
