Introduction about drying oven
Not all laboratory drying needs are the same, leading to the development of specialized oven types. The most common is the forced-air convection oven, which uses an internal fan to circulate heat rapidly.
This type is ideal for general drying, sterilization, and environmental testing where speed and temperature uniformity are paramount. For delicate samples that could be disturbed by strong air currents, gravity convection ovens are preferred; they use natural, gentler airflow. For heat-sensitive materials like certain chemicals or biological samples, vacuum ovens are essential.
By reducing the air pressure inside the chamber, they lower the boiling point of solvents, allowing drying to occur at much lower temperatures and preventing thermal degradation. This variety ensures that laboratories can select an oven perfectly matched to their specific material and protocol requirements.
