Introduction about evaporator
Rotary evaporators are versatile in handling a wide range of organic solvents. Common low-boiling solvents like dichloromethane, diethyl e-t-h-e-r, a-c-e-tone, and ethyl acetate are removed with great efficiency due to their high vapor pressure even under mild vacuum. Medium-boiling solvents such as methanol, ethanol, toluene, and ethyl acetate are also routinely processed. With a strong vacuum pump and appropriate heating, higher-boiling solvents like water, dimethylformamide (DMF), or dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) can also be removed, though this may require more careful optimization of temperature and vacuum strength. The choice of bath temperature and vacuum level is always tailored to the specific solvent's properties.
