Introduction about evaporator
Operating a rotary evaporator requires a systematic approach. First, the sample solution is placed in the evaporation flask, ensuring it is not overfilled. The flask is then attached to the rotary shaft. The receiving flask is secured to the opposite end of the condenser. The system is lowered to partially immerse the evaporation flask in the heated bath. Before rotation and heating begin, the vacuum is gradually applied to the desired level. Once a stable vacuum is achieved, the rotation is started at a moderate speed, and the bath temperature is set to a appropriate level (typically 20-40°C above the solvent's boiling point under the applied vacuum). The process is monitored until evaporation is complete, after which the vacuum is slowly released, rotation is stopped, and the concentrated product is retrieved.
